Coasting in neutral is not advisable

The working speed of the molecular pump is very high (tens of thousands of RPM). In the process of acceleration and deceleration, it is inevitable to pass through some dangerous resonance frequencies. Running at these resonance frequencies for a long time will increase the bearing load and further increase the risk of molecular pump failure. In the vacuum natural pump stop (neutral slide), due to the vacuum air resistance being very small, the molecular pump rotor after dozens of minutes or even hours completely stop, which will operate at the resonance frequency for a long time. It is generally recommended that when the molecular pump is shut down, it can be charged with air/nitrogen through the charging port manually or through the special Vent Valve to increase the rotor resistance and make it stop quickly. When manually inflating, pay attention to controlling the inflating speed, so that the downtime and molecular pump start time are equal (different according to the size of the pump, generally 3-10 minutes).
