DLC films have high hardness and elastic modulus, and the hardness of DLC films prepared by different deposition methods is very different, especially the DLC films prepared by laser sputtering or magnetic filter cathode arc method, the hardness is as high as 70-110GPa, which is comparable to diamond. Due to the different preparation methods or deposition process parameters and composition, the sp3/sp2 ratio and hydrogen content are different, which will also affect the mechanical properties of the film.
