DLC films have good optical transparency, wide optical band gap, and usually high absorption and opacity in the visible region, but have high transmittance and low absorption in the infrared region and microwave frequency band. Because DLC film has the advantages of a wide spectrum, high transmittance, high hardness, small friction coefficient, and good chemical stability, it can be used as an anti-reflection/protective film for a variety of optical materials such as silicon, germanium, glass, zinc sulfide, etc., and play the role of anti-wear, anti-corrosion, anti-delix and anti-oxidation. It has been applied in solar silicon cells, high-power carbon dioxide laser windows, periscope infrared window, army sight infrared windows, aircraft forward-looking infrared windows, missile hood windows and space detector.
