ALD can be carried out using various types of precursors, such as organometallic compounds, halides, oxides and nitrides. The choice of precursors depends on the desired composition and properties of the film. For example, metal-organic precursors are commonly used to deposit metal membranes, while halides are used to deposit metal halide membranes.
