What is the difference between vacuum coating and optical coating

1. Vacuum coating is a method of forming thin films by heating metal or non-metal materials under high vacuum conditions and making them evaporate and condense on the surface of plating parts (metals, semiconductors or insulators). For example, vacuum aluminum plating, vacuum chromium plating and so on

2. Optical coating refers to the process of plating a layer (or multiple layers) of metal (or medium) film on the surface of optical parts. The purpose of coating on the surface of optical parts is to reduce or increase the light reflection, beam splitting, color separation, light filter, polarization, and other requirements. The commonly used coating method is vacuum coating (a physical coating) and chemical coating.
