When we see an object, the first thing we feel is its color. The color of matter is seen by human vision. If there is no light in a closed dark room, or in the dark of night, the color of the object is not visible. Only under light can the color of a substance be seen by the naked eye, so we say that color is produced by the interaction of light and the eye. In fact, color is the result of the brain's recognition of different types of light that are projected on the retina.
The color emitted by the light source itself is called the light source color. The color of matter that we usually observe is called object color. The production of object color is first determined by the nature of the object, that is, the internal structure of the object itself, and secondly, the production of object color cannot be separated from light. Light shines on the surface of the object, part of the light is reflected by the surface of the object, and part of the light enters the object and is refracted. Light entering the surface of the object is the result of the absorption of the wavelength of the incident light by the object. The remaining part of the light is emitted outward through the object, which is what we usually call transmitted light. Finally, the color of the object is obtained by the vision of the human eye.
