The wavelength around the color ring

Mar 06, 2024|

The wavelength around the color ring corresponds to the color of the light in each sector of the ring, and it can be seen from the figure that each sector has another sector at the opposite top. White light can be obtained by mixing all the colored light on the color ring in the correct proportion, and in fact, it can be obtained by mixing the monochromatic light in any two fan positions on the top of the color ring. This pair of colors are called complementary colors, such as the complementary color of blue (435-480nm fan) is yellow (580-595nm), that is, blue light and yellow light mixed to get white light. This kind of two or more other colors of light mixed to get another color of light, we call it additive color mixing, any color on the color ring, can be mixed with two monochromatic lights on both sides and copied, such as yellow light mixed with red light to get orange light. There are very few pure spectral colors or additive mixed colors in nature, and the vast majority of colors we are exposed to around us, unlike the above, are produced by subtractive color mixing. What is subtractive blending?
