(Cr,Ti,Al) N Gradient Coating
Sep 11, 2024| (Cr,Ti,Al) N gradient coating
If the (Cr,Ti,Al) N quaternary coating is deposited directly on the substrate surface, the film-base binding force will decrease under the action of coating brittleness and residual stress. When the internal stress of the coating exceeds its binding force, cracks will occur in the weak area of the coating, and the cracks are easy to spread along the binding interface and the particle interface with small binding force, resulting in the peeling of the coating and the reduction of service life. Such problems can be effectively avoided by depositing (Cr,Ti, Al) N-gradient coatings . As the name suggests, gradient coating is a coating whose composition changes gradually along the direction of film growth, which can be either a change in the proportion of elements in a compound, or a change between a variety of compounds. Since there is no obvious abrupt interface in the gradient coating, the residual stress inside the coating and between the coating and the substrate can be effectively reduced, and the bonding strength between the film and the film and the film-base can be improved, which is conducive to improving the performance of the coating (such as hardness, toughness, wear resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, etc.).
